I’m attracting people into my life who aren’t afraid to live outside the veil of their persona. They welcome relationships grounded in authenticity, vulnerability, and truth. My spirit absolutely swells during those “get to know you” kinda conversations where curiosity leads to communication, which leads to understanding and trust – a foundation for real friendship. As a highly sensitive introvert, I recoil at the sound of small-talk. But I come alive during conversations that challenge me to think deeper, experience different perspectives, or completely change my mind. I love spending time with people who are open to sharing their ideas, opinions, dreams, fears and failures. I mean, who doesn’t wanna feel seen, valued, heard and supported? I may be a “strong, independent Black woman” but I still need people who are genuinely interested in my happiness and well-being. People who are excited about my successes but also willing to hold me up when my world is “falling apart”.
I’m attracting people into my life who share the same core values, feel purposeful in their life, and lead with a similar sense of curiosity, ambition, and openness to possibility. I get amped up by audacious dreamers who make sh*t happen. People who say “f**k fear!”, break past trauma, break through glass ceilings, and do the very thing no one thought they could (or should) do. People with a growth mindset, glass half-full, “let’s find a solution” mentality? Those are my people! People who see the same messy reality as the rest of us but stay “’bout it-’bout it”, rather than just rant about it? They are the change-makers who opt to make a difference by contributing positively to the world with their gifts, talents, and resources. Those are my people too!
