Intensive Pilates Workshops

Classical Pilates Workshops Designed to Educate, Inspire, & Empower

With over two decades of experience as a Pilates teacher, NYS Licensed Massage Therapist, and former professional dancer, I bring a unique depth of knowledge to Classical Pilates. My teaching philosophy combines precise cueing, personalized feedback, and a down-to-earth approach that empowers students of all levels to discover their potential.

I’ve shared my expertise through virtual platforms like Pilatesology® and Pilates Anytime® and as a guest teacher at renowned wellness centers like Rancho La Puerta in Mexico.

🏆 My goal is to make Pilates accessible, engaging, and transformative for every participant.

Precision, Confidence, and Connection in Every Workshop

Whether you're a Pilates teacher or an experienced practitioner, my workshops are designed to elevate your understanding, refine your skills, and empower your practice. From mastering precise cueing to exploring the value of each apparatus, these workouts combine rigorous training with a hands-on, supportive environment.

I’m available for national and international travel to teach my signature workshops, where students will gain:

  • Confidence and clarity in finding your unique voice as a Pilates teacher
  • Precise cueing techniques to inspire “aha!” moments and enhance student success
  • A deeper understanding of exercise goals and how they interconnect for systematic progression

Refine your cueing, build confidence, and develop a teaching voice that’s uniquely your own while staying true to the Classical Pilates Method.

Designed to support teachers who want to move beyond imitation, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome, this workshop empowers you to develop your unique voice while honoring the Classical Pilates Method. We’ll start with my INT Mat Class, Flow Like Joe™, followed by journaling exercises and interactive discussion to support your journey.

You’ll explore:

  • Success: Define what a successful Pilates career looks and feels like for you.
  • Clarity: Discover tools to develop a teaching style that’s uniquely yours.
  • Audacity: Build strategies to overcome imposter syndrome and fears, so you feel confident and free in your teaching.

Effective cueing can make the difference between a routine workout and a transformative experience. This workshop equips you with practical strategies to improve your cueing skills, helping you connect with your students and facilitate rewarding workouts.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll focus on:

  • Sharpening your communication skills to create “aha!” moments
  • Helping students connect with their powerhouse in every exercise
  • Using clear, concise cues to talk less and let students move more
  • Stimulating curiosity and fostering deeper engagement with the method

Delve into the goals and mechanics of Classical Pilates exercises, empowering you to see them as movement skills that build upon one another for increased strength, stability, flexibility and stamina.

Prevent repetitive exercise orders from becoming stale by adding a “plot twist.” This workshop teaches you how to incorporate creative themes and variations into group classes and private lessons while maintaining the integrity of Classical Pilates. Experience insightful nuances that create deeper muscular connections in every exercise, making your practice more engaging and transformational.

Designed for those looking to improve posture and joint health, this workshop uses the Small Barrel, Spine Corrector, and Ladder Barrel to increase stability and mobility across all planes of movement.

You’ll focus on how and when to use each barrel to progressively:

  • Build spinal stability and mobility
  • Enhance stability and range of motion at the shoulders and hips
  • Develop powerhouse control to support basic to advanced exercises
  • Train for inversions

Work closer to the goal of Wunda Chair exercises by learning how to control the spring-loaded pedal from your powerhouse. Using the stable resistance of the Magic Circle you’ll learn to find deeper connections between your limbs and your powerhouse. Then you’ll transfer those connections onto the Wunda Chair to challenge your stability,  mobility and control against the moving resistance of the pedal.

Strong feet play a foundational role in Pilates. In this workshop, we’ll use the Toe Corrector, Foot Corrector, and 2x4 Board to enhance strength, stability, gait and posture from the ground up.

Expect to:

  • Strengthen the three arches of your feet
  • Improve the articulation of your feet
  • Increase the stability and mobility of your ankles
  • Discover your “feet to seat” connection for grounded and balanced movement

"I leave each lesson in better condition - mentally as well as physically."

“When my doctor who treated me for two fractured vertebrae said, 'You must not fall again,' I started taking private Pilates lessons with Kira. With careful attention to my still fragile back, working with her has given me renewed strength, increased mobility, and restored confidence in my ability to function well as an 84-year-old.”

— Rosemary S.

"The knowledge, precision & care Kira brings to the work is truly transformative."

“Kira is extraordinary! She gave me back my active life after a back injury sidelined me with chronic pain. Plus, her enthusiasm is contagious.”

— Nancy S. (Virtual Student)

"I’m amazed at how Pilates with Kira has amped up my flexibility & verve."

"Kira is an exceptionally gifted teacher of Joseph Pilates’ system. At 60, I’m pushing myself to swim competitively in the USMS races. Kira’s rigorous but thoughtful & purposeful training has helped me build a lot of strength, which has translated to greater precision in my swim stroke.”

— Eric L. (in person)

"Kira really sees the whole person without judgment."

“We take weekly Pilates duets with Kira, and her individual focus, attention to technique, and ability to tailor exercises based on each of our bodies make all the difference. It’s an intensely focused 55 minutes that feels so good afterward.”

— Felicia M. & Patrick H.
