Success, to me, starts with a strong self-identity; knowing who I am independent of familial, religious or societal expectations. It’s knowing my core values and maintaining integrity to them in any environment. Success is quieting all the mental chatter and being still enough to hear my intuition. And then make choices in alignment with it. It’s also being able to recognize how the consequences of my choices reflect my strengths and weaknesses. And using those experiences as a catalyst for personal growth.
Success is maintaining healthy relationships; first and foremost with my own body, mind, and spirit. And in interpersonal relationships, it’s daring to be vulnerable and open to emotional intimacy no matter how many times I’ve been hurt or betrayed. In my personal and professional life, success is building relationships based on communication, honesty, trust, mutual support, and shared experiences.
Success is being afraid but doing it anyway. It’s daring to trust my experience, skills, and talents enough to throw my ideas into the world knowing that, whether they hit or miss, I’ll be okay. It’s daring to speak my truth and stand up for what I believe in, even if it’s an unpopular opinion. Success is forging ahead confidently despite what others think.
Success is having a vision for my personal and professional life and manifesting it through consistent action. It’s creating a legacy, building wealth, making and impact, inspiring and motivating others, following my curiosity, leaning into my creativity, and being in community with like-minded people with similar core values.
